UARD had the honor of supporting the Google Educator Group, New Zealand, with a recent workshop focused on the use of Merge Cubes in education.
The Merge Cube is a physical cube that has special designs on its faces. The designs are similar to a QR code, which enables a mobile app to produce high-quality, interactive 3D models in front of the viewer.
The workshop was facilitated by UARD President Dr Craig Hansen and led by Dr Michael; Harvey, who is New Zealand’s Merge Cube Ambassador.
The Merge Cube design plans can be downloaded and printed by anyone for free. This allows parents, students and educators to experience augmented reality while learning.
The mobile application can be downloaded for free as well:
