Brian Raison; leading with a personal mission

We had the honor of creating a videocast with Dr Brian (Ph.D., Associate Professor and Leadership Field Specialist at The Ohio State University) in February 2021 and there were many nuggets of wisdom shared. Brian has worked with the Ohio State University in its extension service for over 24 years, helping leaders and organizations make strategic shifts. Brian shared how his personal mission of gratitude and encouragement informs everything that he does, and his passion is clearly felt.

Brian’s advice to aspiring leaders includes three key components:

  1. Develop self-awareness; know yourself and become more attuned to your emotional state
  2. Increase self-regulation; mastering your emotions will reduce obstacles in relationships and help you make your own luck
  3. Gain clarity on your personal mission; do what matters most and make the biggest contribution
